What is flexible slate?

KORDEKO flexible slate keeps the layered relief of natural slate: an uneven surface with visible strata that gives a wall depth. It looks like real slate, but the tile is only a few millimetres thick, puts no load on the walls and is glued onto a prepared substrate, including insulated facades.

Where is flexible slate used?

On facades and plinths that call for a natural, rougher look, and indoors on accent walls, fireplace surrounds, staircases and commercial spaces with character. A complete facade is shown in the house clad in white flexible slate from our portfolio.

The Slate series: four shades

Slate White (S01) – light, almost white slate; Slate Beige (S02) – beige with warm tones; Slate Light Grey (S04) – light blue-grey; Slate Anthracite (S09) – deep anthracite. How each shade reads on a house is covered in the articles on white flexible slate and beige flexible slate.

Installation

The tiles are fixed with flexible adhesive to plaster, concrete or the reinforced layer of an insulation system. Joints can stay visible or be filled, depending on the pattern you want. Ask for samples to see the relief in daylight before choosing a shade.
